You may have thought the Game Hunter was over, but you'd be wrong! I'm back and with a brand new episode that beginning collectors should find useful. When you think…
A trip back to Indiana for a wedding yielded great benefits for my collection. A trip to the local game store in Michigan City, followed by a visit to the oh so lucrative Disc Replay in Merrillville meant plenty of games were found in this the end of July. Oh, and a game from GameStop thrown in for good measure!!
Two new stores to find retro games! One store was brand new as of this week, and really isn’t a store. It’s more of just some guy that tacked on his game collection to an existing hobby game store. Nonetheless, there were a few titles there that caught my eye. The second store was a used music/movies/games store that I saw from the highway and decided to stop in and look around. Surprisingly there were games aplenty at this place, including a Dreamcast game of all things! Well, let’s get this thing underway!
Last Thursday was my birthday, and as such I received a few games from family members as gifts (as well as treated myself to a small something). I feel like being a game collector makes things a lot easier on those seeking to give me a present: you pretty much can’t go wrong buying a game or, better yet, gift card. Outside of the birthday happenings, a new game came in for review that I’m anxious to get to, if only I could put down Animal Crossing: New Leaf for more than a minute to play it!
Wow, it’s been quite some time since the last Sunday Roundup! I believe one month might be a record for a draught between entries, but seeing as the last one was extravagant and this one is full of quality games and deals, I think the wait is justified. This week’s games come to us from a dying Blockbuster Video. It’s always sad to see a store closing for good, but honestly I was surprised there were any Blockbuster’s still around. On top of that, this store looked crazy old, like it had been around for decades. Anyway, a few good games this week, and all of them still newish.
I've uploaded the last five Sunday Roundups as videos on my YouTube channel. If you're sick of reading my mountains of text about each game, why not listen to me…
Special thanks go out this week to JJ I met over at Splitkick. He pointed me toward a special 25% off sale at the game store eStarland (who also have a dated looking website to order games).
I went nuts.
On top of that, I picked up a few games off Craigslist that I’ve been looking to purchase for years. Seriously, years! And each of them were fantastic prices. Read on, as there are quite a few games this week to browse.
Boiling down game collecting to its core leaves you with the essential elements of the hobby. Of course procuring games is one of these said elements. Key to the success of any fruitful collector is knowledge. Knowing about games, the series they belong to, the development staff behind them, and other useful information can turn you on to games you may not otherwise give a second thought to. Here are some tips for discovering your next favorite game in the sea of lesser known titles. (more…)
Two quick games this week, thanks to Groupon of all places. I've used the online coupon site before for this and that, and I've always seen game deals on there.…
