Worse yet (or better depending on how you look at it), more and more games are being released each and every week! So where to begin? In part two of a special Game Hunter’s Journal series, we’ll go over the ins and outs of collecting games from the last generation of consoles. Man, these GameStop deals really need to stop. I’ve been dropping $30-$40 a week on these Buy 2 Get 1 Free, 3 for $15, and 2 for $10 sales. Granted, they’re all really good deals in my opinion, and I’ve been able to track down some games I’ve been searching awhile for, but still! Maybe what I really need is just another store to have a sale so I can ransack their racks and let the half dozen GameStop’s around me replenish. Whatever the future may hold, here are this week’s games. Quite an assortment, too!
For the past seven or so years, I have been saving the points under the caps of Coca-Cola beverages to use with their My Coke Rewards program. Initially I started saving the codes because I saw that there were some Wii games available and thought, “I drink enough pop, I can start saving!” So after several years of saving points I managed to garner enough points to purchase some SkullCandy ear buds, a few gift cards for flowers to give to my girlfriend, plenty of free photographs, and, most recently, a GameStop gift card! I don’t know why, but I’ve been itching to spend my money lately (Perhaps because with my new job I’m making more money than I ever have before). So with a fresh $20 gift card in my hand, I went shopping.
Something must have been burning a hole in my pocket because I spent quite a few dollars on games this week. I say something because it’s not like I was sitting on a pile of money that I could spend willy nilly on whatever I wanted. At least I can take solace in knowing that I bought these games on sale and saved a few bucks that way. Yeah, we’ll go with that…

Last Thursday was my birthday, and as such I received a few games from family members as gifts (as well as treated myself to a small something). I feel like being a game collector makes things a lot easier on those seeking to give me a present: you pretty much can’t go wrong buying a game or, better yet, gift card. Outside of the birthday happenings, a new game came in for review that I’m anxious to get to, if only I could put down Animal Crossing: New Leaf for more than a minute to play it!
Nearly five years have passed since we took on the role of Phoenix Wright, the up-and-coming defense attorney that shook the legal world back in 2005 on the Nintendo DS (2001 on the Game Boy Advance in Japan). Only a few months back we were graced with the announcement of a brand new Ace Attorney game from Capcom. Though Phoenix held his own in the fighting ring a la Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, getting back in the courtroom is where he’s most comfortable; cross-examining witnesses, finding contradictions, and spouting out catchphrase after catchphrase.
