Gameplay Vault: Dungeon Defenders

After having a grand time with Orcs Must Die!, I decided to delve even deeper in the genre that is tower defense and downloaded Dungeon Defenders for the Xbox 360. Another tower defense/RPG title, Dungeon Defenders has a focus on multiplayer co-op and grinding out levels as you would in a game like World of Warcraft. Well, a game with this many comparisons has to be somewhat decent, and not surprisingly it is. Check out the videos and see for yourself.

Gameplay Vault: Guardian Heroes

Newly released for the Xbox 360, the Sega Saturn classic side-scrolling beat-em up Guardian Heroes is here to shine down upon a whole new generation of gamers. I had a few good hours with the game already and recorded my adventure to the end of the game. Check the game out here and enjoy!

Review: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

With the upcoming release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the memorable date of 11-11-11, I started thinking about the previous game in the series, Oblivion. I was fortunate enough to be given the game as a gift a few weeks back, and after 42hours and 13 minutes, I have successfully completed the game for the Xbox 360. So how does the 5th anniversary treat Oblivion? Well let’s just say I’m pretty damn excited to play Skyrim next month.

Review: Orcs Must Die!

The tower defense genre has always been a desktop game to me, something that I would play through an internet browser between classes, and certainly not something I’d consider a full fledged videogame. In my mind, while these games were always fun, there just wasn’t enough content to justify paying for a physical copy of a tower defense game. So when I heard about Orcs Must Die! at PAX East this year, I was a bit skeptical: a tower defense game that combines third-person shooters with RPG elements? Much to my disbelief, Orcs Must Die! is easily the best game I’ve played in the genre, and it brings a handful of welcome additions that make the game entertaining, difficult, and satisfying.

Gameplay Vault: Orcs Must Die!

I’ve gotten a lot of play time in with the new Xbox Live Arcade tower defense/action title Orcs Must Die! Last night I decided to plug in the ol’ mic and record some thoughts of the gameplay. The mic work sucks (sorry, first time recording while playing: I’ll improve for future vids), but it’s still a decent video. Check it out.

Now Playing: Oblivion & Kirby

I’ve been playing the amazing RPG Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to get ready for the upcoming release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and I’ve been enjoying every minute, nay, hour, of it! I’ve also been dabbling in the fantastic little DS game known as Kirby Mass Attack. So what is it about these games that makes them so good? Read on…

Review: BloodRayne: Betrayal

If you’ve played games for years there’s inevitably a few that have slipped through the cracks. BloodRayne is one of those series for me, and I can safely say the extent of my BloodRayne knowledge is that the main character is a half-vampire, Uwe Boll makes horrible movies about her, and she’s appeared in Playboy. But with the newest title, BloodRayne: Betrayal, I was finally able to sink my teeth into the series.

Review: The Baconing

DeathSpank returns and he’s bringing with him a mountain of weapons, a handful of orphans, and more of the same gameplay from the first two games. The Baconing is the third title in the DeathSpank series and offers up the same blend of action mixed with tongue-in-cheek humor. Leave it to DeathSpank to test the adage “the third time’s the charm.”’

Review: SCUF DareDeVL Pro Xbox 360 Controller

Having the competitive edge in multiplayer tends to lead to victory. If you’re already the perfect sniper who knows the entire map by heart, or if you’re a one-man army who can destroy the entire opposition by yourself then you’ve already got the skills to be one of the elite players. But what about your controller? The vanilla Xbox 360 controller could be the one thing holding you back from true epicness in Call of Duty, Battlefield, or Halo: Reach. SCUF gaming has the definitive controller for all your shooting needs, and it doesn’t take a CoD master to use one.
