Top Ten “What Was I Thinking?” Games on my Christmas List

Banjo ChristmasMaking a Christmas list has always been something my family required of me around the Thanksgiving holiday. When I say required I mean required: my parents would ask for a physical list so they knew what I might be interested in that year, and what they could tell other family members I’d like. While I’m truly blessed to have a family that cares deeply for me as my family does, keeping all of these lists over the past years has lead me to one very interesting conclusion… I’ve asked for some really strange games for Christmas! I’ve decided to share a few of those with you all here, in what I am calling the Top Ten “What Was I Thinking?” Games on my Christmas List. (more…)

Sunday Roundup: 12/1/13

New Games (12-1-13)As far as Black Friday video game deals go, this year wasn’t too nice to me. Sure, there were some great finds that I’m sure many people loved, but I didn’t find much of anything across 2 separate GameStops, a Best Buy, Target, Toys R’ Us, and even another Goodwill. That being said, the games I did find weren’t crazy, must-have titles, or superbly awesome sales, but they are good enough to be added to my collection. So let’s get the first Sunday Roundup of December started!

Sunday Roundup: 10/20/13

New Games (10-20-13)Man, these GameStop deals really need to stop. I’ve been dropping $30-$40 a week on these Buy 2 Get 1 Free, 3 for $15, and 2 for $10 sales. Granted, they’re all really good deals in my opinion, and I’ve been able to track down some games I’ve been searching awhile for, but still! Maybe what I really need is just another store to have a sale so I can ransack their racks and let the half dozen GameStop’s around me replenish. Whatever the future may hold, here are this week’s games. Quite an assortment, too!

Sunday Roundup: 10/13/13

New Games (10-13-13)A scheduling conflict prevented me last week from posting my new games added to my collection. This week however I had no excuse to miss the weekly reporting so I present to you essentially two weeks of games thrown into one! And, for a little extra kick, there’s even a single game I received three weeks prior that I’m writing about just for good measure. Huzzah!

Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

untitledWhen referencing the greatest beat ‘em ups of all time, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game inevitably shows up on the list. Whether it’s the excellent Arcade Game or Turtles in Time, chances are Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael make the cut.—so it makes sense people get excited when a new TMNT-themed brawler is announced. Based on the Nickelodeon animated series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is the newest game to feature the heroes—and while die hard Turtle fanatics will love the adherence to the source material, sloppy controls, glitches, and many minor nuisances keep the game from being as memorable an experience as the earlier games. Sunday Roundup: 9/8/13

New Games (9-8-13)I had to work at a different location this past week and it was in a large complex that also happened to contain a rather large GameStop. If you recall last week’s Sunday Roundup you’ll remember that a few sales were happening at the chain, namely a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal and a 3 for $10 sale. Seeing as Monday was a holiday most of those deals were extended through Labor Day, so I took advantage once again! Honestly through, these were extremely good finds that I may have just bought for the hell of it without any sale. And I must say, my Wii collection has been steadily growing the past months and it’s starting to get filled with some quality titles! Go watch my Game Hunter video on the Wii to learn why that’s been happening. (more…)
