Gameplay Vault: Skeleton Warriors

I found this title earlier in the week at a used game store for two bucks. Needless to say, my hopes weren’t high. The game came out sometime around the launch of the original Playstation in 1996 (about a year after initial release), and for an early title it’s not horrible. Just watch and see for yourself.

Actually the game’s CGI cinema scenes, though there are only a few, aren’t too bad. There’s a distinct lack of much sound, but they’re aren’t bad. Watch:

See? Not so bad. The intro is nearly just as long. Maybe it’s just because I think skeletons are neat, I don’t know.

Having never played the game (or heard of the game, for that matter) before, I didn’t know what to expect from the gameplay. But after completing the game I think it can be summed up in just one word…
EXPLOSIONS!!

And that’s Skeleton Warriors for the PS1. I saw that there’s also a Sega Saturn version as well, but seeing as I don’t have a Saturn (yet) I won’t be looking at it anytime soon.

Mini-Review: If you find it for $2 like I did, you should get it. For that price you really can’t go wrong.
