Modern Classics: Tekken 3

Tekken 3 CoverFighting games are usually broken down into two categories: 2D fighting and 3D fighting. In the 3D fighting field I think of three games being the kings of the arena: Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter, and Tekken. Of those three I’ve played and enjoyed them all but I have had the most love and fun with Tekken. Though I played the first two games it wasn’t until Tekken 3 that I really started to dig deep into the series. The characters, the music, the smooth animations, the visuals, and the combat all make Tekken 3 one of the PlayStation’s best games. Yeah, one of the best games for the entire system.

CHICKEN. I get an eye roll out of my wife every time we go to the grocery store.

I had so much drunken (and sober) fun with this game. I prefer Dead or Alive’s gameplay and ridiculous seemingly endless costume unlocks, but no doubt this is a top tier game for the PS1, like you mentioned.

Dead or Alive is probably the crazier game, I’ll give you that.

But then again there’s Tiger Jackson…
