Sunday Roundup: 12/1/13

New Games (12-1-13)As far as Black Friday video game deals go, this year wasn’t too nice to me. Sure, there were some great finds that I’m sure many people loved, but I didn’t find much of anything across 2 separate GameStops, a Best Buy, Target, Toys R’ Us, and even another Goodwill. That being said, the games I did find weren’t crazy, must-have titles, or superbly awesome sales, but they are good enough to be added to my collection. So let’s get the first Sunday Roundup of December started!

Sunday Roundup: 11/24/13 – The Wii U Edition

New Games (11-24-13)It finally happened:

I bought a Wii U!!

And with some pretty great deals surrounding it: I was able to score the Legend of Zelda Special Edition system for nearly $75 off, as well as snag some cheap, brand new games!

Why Pokemon X and Y are the Best Pokemon Games in Years

Pokemon is everywhere.

The recent release of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y on the Nintendo 3DS has stirred up all kinds of talks amongst series fans, gaming outlets, and everyone that owns a 3DS. I’ve heard people saying this is the best version of the Pokemon games since the originals, that it’s a wonderful place for newcomers and veteran players to start (or re-start), and that the games have never looked, played, or sounded better. Review: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies

untitledOne might think a video game about courtroom drama in which you’re defending seemingly helpless clients would make for a forgetful game. But throw in some absurdities like the prosecution lawyer being a convicted murderer, a witness who truly believes he is possessed by an ancient Japanese monster, a defense partner who can sense people’s emotions, and you’ve got a game that’s anything but boring. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is the first game in the main series to be released since 2008 and features new stories, characters, gameplay mechanics, and visuals. Have the hiatus and improvements been enough to push Phoenix and company past the shortcomings of the previous games?
