Review: Yesterday

Can you tell me everything you did yesterday? And I do mean everything: did you eat two slices of pizza for dinner or three? Did you wear a blue shirt or a white shirt? Did you jump off a silo and crash through the window of a building?

Yesterday is a point-and-click adventure game that’s full of mystery, murder, and one man’s resolve to find out who he really is. It’s not too often you see this style of game nowadays, but Yesterday does give players a unique experience, even if it’s one that’s far too short.

I was impressed with the quality of Yesterday’s story and art direction. For an indie title, it really does offer a lot of fun, memorable pieces. On top of that, the throwback to the point-and-click adventure adds that feeling of nostalgia that I love oh so much. If you’ve got an extra $30 lying around, I’d say give this one a shot for a nice weekend title.

I've been writing about video games for years and playing them even longer. You'll find me playing all types of games, old and new. Mega Man III is greater than Mega Man II.

  1. This sounds pretty cool, but I’m not sure I can justify spending $30 on a 4-hour title. It’s nice to see point-and-click adventures making a comeback, though. Nice review, jsick!

    1. Thanks, mate! It was very nice indeed to play a point-and-click adventure again. But the price tag is a bit steep in my opinion. I think I told someone else this, but if the game ever goes on sale then it’s definitely worth picking up.
