Sunday Roundup: 9/27/15

New Games (9-27-15)Collecting two weeks, this Sunday Roundup has a few targeted pickups I knew I was going to grab, as well as some totally random ones, and even some awesome sale prices! Whenever there are sales that lump together a few solid games and some average one in a bundle price, I’ll always take a look if not grab a few to add to the collection. It’s good, though, these don’t come by too often, otherwise I’d have no money at all! (more…)

Sunday Roundup: 7/5/15 – 7/19/15

New Games (7-19-15)This blog has been stagnant for the past few weeks because life has been getting in my way. We’ve recently had a handful of birthdays come up (including mine and Laura’s!), a friend returned to the US after studying abroad for a year, and both of my brothers from out of state and out of town visited to go to California Extreme (more on that bit later). With work and other responsibilities getting in the way as well, unfortunately SlickGaming/DownStab has been thrown to the wayside. But that certainly doesn’t mean I haven’t been looking at games when I can get the chance! And with three weeks making up this Roundup, there are plenty of titles to discuss. So let’s begin! (more…)

Sunday Roundup: 4/12/15

New Games (4-12-15)A bit late on getting this one out, but a great week nonetheless for games. After passing on a select few games during the tail end of GameStop’s Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal, I decided to drag myself back to the store to purchase what I honestly should have bought the first time. Sadly, and let this be a lesson, only one of the games from the trio I originally intended on picking up were still available. *sigh*

A preordered game arrived from Amazon this past week, as well as a random sealed PS2 game. Oh, and a very interesting find at Goodwill capped off the week.

Game Hunter’s Journal: The Convenience (and Disadvantage) of eBay

eBay Logo

Online auction site eBay can be a real haven for game collectors. Literally everything you could ever want is on the site. That includes games, specific versions of games, very specific inserts and other stuff included with a game but not necessarily the game, and some other things you didn’t even existed (but now must have!). With everything at your fingertips, it’s easy to get drawn into the black hole that is eBay and never look back. As a game collector you can use eBay to get all kinds of stuff you otherwise would never find, but using eBay the proper way can be challenging. Here’s how a game collector should use eBay to their advantage and grow their collection the best, most efficient, way possible.

Sunday Roundup: 5/4/14

New Games (5-4-14)Sadly there aren’t any Star Wars games adorning this May 4th Sunday Roundup, but there are plenty of brand new Nintendo games to enjoy! This is the second time that Nintendo has released two, what I would consider, big releases on the same day: Kirby Triple Deluxe and Mario Golf: World Tour. They did something similar in November of last year with The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds on 3DS and Super Mario 3D World on Wii U. While Kirby and golf aren’t nearly as high profile as Zelda and 3D Mario, it’s still two games that probably could have been spread out for Nintendo’s summer lineup. Regardless, I bought them both. Sunday Roundup: 3/23/14

New Games (3-23-14)This week’s roundup is full of portable games: The DS is represented well, the 3DS comes in with a sub-par launch game, and a brand new, sealed copy of one of the best PSP games I played. If that’s not enough, there’s a first in this batch as well! And you know what, I might actually play some of these games!
