Review: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2

What’s that? Another tragedy has befallen Japan and demons are at the center of it all? Hmm, must be another Shin Megami Tensei game. Devil Survivor 2 is the follow-up to the RPG/strategy hybrid Devil Survivor (which saw a recent remake on the 3DS), and it has you once again controlling a group of young heroes as they unravel the mysteries surrounding the most recent trip Earth has taken to its ultimate destruction. I know it’s terrible that the world is in shambles, but if mass destruction is this much fun, count me in, baby!

Sunday Roundup: 12/4/2011

Glorious day!

As luck would have it, a brand new, independently owned used video game store opened up right here in my home town! What are the odds?! No, I’m serious: what are they? Who is honestly opening up a used game store to rival that of Disc Replay or GameStop?

Well, whatever his reasons may be, I for one am exceedingly happy to have a carrier of old games located in my home town finally. I was happy to be one of his first customers on his first day. Let’s get on with things then, shall we?

Review: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked

Tokyo is being attacked by monsters, and not Godzilla or the pocket variety. In Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, the most recent release from Atlus and the creators of the Persona series, you take on the role of a handful of Tokyo teenagers who get caught up in a battle of angels and demons with the fate of the world in the balance. Devil Survivor Overclocked is an enhanced port for the Nintendo 3DS of 2009’s DS exclusive Devil Survivor. Merely two years after the original game came out does the 3DS release have enough power to pull gamers back in or is this battle already lost? (more…)
