A new Roundup for a new month! Laura and I found ourselves in Mountain View this past week on a day off, and while we weren’t particularly close to GameStop, since we weren’t really doing anything anyway we made the adventure and headed there. I wasn’t disappointed, as a Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal was going on for all used Wii and DS products! Also, some friends of ours are moving this month and they decided to clear out some of their unwanted stuff, some of which included a small box of Xbox 360 games! And, surprisingly enough, I didn’t have many of them! Huzzah for free games (but sadness from friends moving). Read more about Sunday Roundup: 8/9/15 …
Wow, it’s been quite some time since the last Sunday Roundup! I believe one month might be a record for a draught between entries, but seeing as the last one was extravagant and this one is full of quality games and deals, I think the wait is justified. This week’s games come to us from a dying Blockbuster Video. It’s always sad to see a store closing for good, but honestly I was surprised there were any Blockbuster’s still around. On top of that, this store looked crazy old, like it had been around for decades. Anyway, a few good games this week, and all of them still newish.
Somehow the topic of Bioshock got Jett, Mat, and myself discussing video game movies, remembering anything worthwhile about Bioshock 2, and the awesome that will never happen in the Castlevania-Bioshock crossover. We can only hope.
Also this week Mat and I diverge on our mutual dislike of Castlevania: Mirror of Fate, and Jett explains why Darkstalkers Resurrection is a competent 2D fighting collection.
