The New Legend of Zelda Comic is a Fun Twist on a Classic Game

A brand new Legend of Zelda comic was released last week. Well, not exactly brand new: it’s a re-release of a 12-part saga originally seen in Nintendo Power back in the 90’s. But for the first time in a long time it’s been bound together in a near 200 page full color novel. Based on the Super NES classic The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and written and drawn by famous manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori, the grand adventure spins the familiar storyline and adds new characters, plot developments, and some lighthearted humor to make the tale unique. Though not as grandiose as the video game it is based on, the comic is still wholly worth your time if you’re a Zelda fan! (more…)

Brand New Comic Book Section Up and Running!

Some of you may already know that I’ve been reading a few video game themed comic books as of late. I wrote an article or two a few months back about some of the various Mega Man comics/mangas, and I am still reading and enjoying those series’. More recent Jsick news is that I’ve been reading and loving the old Sonic the Hedgehog comics by Archie. Mega Man: Let the Games Begin

Mega Man: Let the Games Begin collects the first four volumes of the Archie Comics periodical Mega Man comics. There are many differences between this series and the manga series also starring the Blue Bomber, but both have their endearing qualities. After months of searching I’ve finally found this trade paperback edition of the series and am going to totally spoil the entire series for you all. But you know what? It’s totally awesome even if you already know what’s going to happen.
