Why Pokemon X and Y are the Best Pokemon Games in Years

Pokemon is everywhere.

The recent release of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y on the Nintendo 3DS has stirred up all kinds of talks amongst series fans, gaming outlets, and everyone that owns a 3DS. I’ve heard people saying this is the best version of the Pokemon games since the originals, that it’s a wonderful place for newcomers and veteran players to start (or re-start), and that the games have never looked, played, or sounded better. Review: Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl

Some are just about surviving, plain and simple.

And then there are RPGs like Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl that has the whole package: it constantly pits you against fearsome foes, always tempts you with a shiny new piece of equipment, and has an interesting story to boot. Etrian Odyssey Untold acts as both a remake and reimagining of the original DS game, and incorporates aspects from the recent Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan to create a game that is arguably the best in the series and one of the finest in the entire dungeon crawler genre. Review: Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Animal Crossing New Leaf CoverOnly in Animal Crossing could I be excited about planting a banana tree, or catching a rare butterfly, or paying off the loan for the second story addition on my house… or fear the omnipresence of an anthropomorphic raccoon.

With every new platform since the GameCube, Nintendo has released a version of the life simulator game Animal Crossing. The trend continues with the latest release on the 3DS, Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Although the collecting and repetition is still present, a handful of additions make this iteration stand out. Top Ten E3 2013 Announcements and Stories

E3 2013 LogoE3 2013 has come and gone. By many standards it was what we’d come to expect from the expo: new game announcements, news on all kinds of projects, and some exclusive trailers, demos, and videos. But just about everyone can agree that this year’s E3 went above and beyond the expectations of most in attendance. It wasn’t just about the games this year: it was about the consoles and how they affect the gamers. It was about a change in the way we game and how our hobby will change moving forward. It was about publishers making games that gamers wanted to play. And above all, it was about glorifying our hobby and giving us an undeniable outlet to look at and say without wavering that we’re proud to be gamers.
