Sunday Roundup: 8/12/12

This might be a record, folks. I don’t think I’ve every purchased this many games in one week. Not only that, but several of these games are highlights. Some are special because they are near and dear to my heart, some are special because they are hard to find gems, and some still are special because I was able to score them for a ridiculously good price. And I bought some crappy games for good measure. Come on, you didn’t think I’d leave you with your mouth hanging open with every game I bought, did you?

This Week in Gaming News: 8/4/12 – 8/11/12

Cross off Blizzard on the list of big gaming companies that have had their networks hacked. Speaking of companies who have been hacked, Valve had an interesting tidbit on their Team Fortress 2 site this week. And Sony made a few headlines regarding The Last Guardian and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Jason & Laura Play – Left 4 Dead 2: Cold Stream Act 1

Modern Classics: DDRMAX: Dance Dance Revolution

It’s been a long time since I created the Modern Classics library, and I’ve completely neglected it over these pasts months. With that in mind I set out to reinvent the series, and I wanted to start with a game that easily fit into the Modern Classic criteria:
It has to be a fun, new, innovative, or personal favorite of myself and gamers;
Leaving behind a legacy for the video game world to remember is a plus, and;
There has to be something here that I can teach you about the game.
And what did I come up with? Dance Dance Revolution. And very quickly, actually.

This Week in Gaming News: 7/14/12 – 7/20/12

Wishing there was an alternative title with the NFL license to combat with Madden? Well keep wishing.

Also this week, Brain Fargo makes good on his Kickstarter promises by releasing the first tempting screenshot of Wasteland 2, the remake of Double Dragon packs on the neon lights, and the rebooting of sorts of the Rock Band series is shaping up to be another must-have part game. (more…)
