Review: Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition

When Street Fighter III: New Generation was first released back in 1997 gamers saw it as a mixed bag. The updated fighting system, visual style, and new roster of combatants was seen by Street Fighter loyalists as a move away from what they liked about the series . Players who gave the game a shot saw that Third Strike was one of the best fighting games ever made. Capcom has given gamers another chance to fight for the future with Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition for the Xbox 360. HD graphics, online play, and a fantastic fighting system make Third Strike Online Edition a must-play for any fighting fan. (more…)

Sunday Round-Up: 9/04/11

It’s a slow week this time around, and thankfully one of the last slow weeks for video game releases. Only two games (well, 5 technically, and 1 even more technically) were acquired this week, and both of them downloadable. Don’t worry though, I’ve got an extra treat just for those loyal fans out there (so all 2 of you).

Review: No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise

No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise is like a Quentin Tarantino movie: gratuitous violence, scantily clad babes, and a plot focused around killing. And that’s not a bad thing. Heroes’ Paradise is an enhanced port of the original Wii game, and it comes with a flashy new HD visual update, as well as a few extra goodies to keep the assassination fest going.

Review: Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions

This 3DS mini-retrospective of the legendary Pac-Man and Galaga franchises contains the original arcade games that started it all, the reboots from the Xbox 360, and two all-new games exclusive to the 3DS. Even with the repackaging of four great titles and two brand new ones, Dimensions is a hard recommendation given the burden of its full price tag.
