I’ve gotten a lot of play time in with the new Xbox Live Arcade tower defense/action title Orcs Must Die! Last night I decided to plug in the ol’ mic and record some thoughts of the gameplay. If you’ve played games for years there’s inevitably a few that have slipped through the cracks. BloodRayne is one of those series for me, and I can safely say the extent of my BloodRayne knowledge is that the main character is a half-vampire, Uwe Boll makes horrible movies about her, and she’s appeared in Playboy. But with the newest title, BloodRayne: Betrayal, I was finally able to sink my teeth into the series.
DeathSpank returns and he’s bringing with him a mountain of weapons, a handful of orphans, and more of the same gameplay from the first two games. The Baconing is the third title in the DeathSpank series and offers up the same blend of action mixed with tongue-in-cheek humor. Leave it to DeathSpank to test the adage “the third time’s the charm.”’
Having the competitive edge in multiplayer tends to lead to victory. When Street Fighter III: New Generation was first released back in 1997 gamers saw it as a mixed bag. The updated fighting system, visual style, and new roster of combatants was seen by Street Fighter loyalists as a move away from what they liked about the series . Players who gave the game a shot saw that Third Strike was one of the best fighting games ever made. Capcom has given gamers another chance to fight for the future with Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition for the Xbox 360. DeathSpank is back. Again. For a second time. And in the all new title The Baconing. Quirky humor, action-RPG gameplay, and a distinctive art style help to make this downloadable series one worth playing. Here’s what I thought of the game’s first few hours.
Two re-releases and another PS1 classic are the newest additions to the library: Intelligent Qube for the PS1, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition for the Xbox 360, and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked for the 3DS.

I picked up the new XBLA game Bastion yesterday and was able to get a ways into it before I had to stop. I’ve seen and read many reviews on the title, and I was impressed with the amount of praise the little game was getting. From what I could tell it was an action-RPG with gorgeous visuals and a unique touch to narration. So, being the person I am, I felt I owed it to myself to play. And I did. And it was good. (more…)
