It’s been one year since I started this blog. One whole year! It took me years to even begin writing one, and now we’re already one whole year into it. Once I started writing here I knew that I would stick with it, because I was having a lot of fun writing. Getting to this one year mark isn’t surprising in that sense. Rather, what is surprising is the amount of content I was able to build, and the number of dedicated readers and encouraging friends I’ve made.
First things first, I want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone that has supported me, provided comments and critiques of my work, and to everyone that has visited the site and enjoyed their time. There are a few people I want to thank personally for their dedicated support:
The Warning Sign: Eric at The Warning Sign was my first pretty much everything here at Slick Gaming. He provided my first comment, my first follower, and my first views. He has since grown to become one of the most frequent visitors. I wanted to express my gratitude towards all of your continued support of the site. I really appreciate you coming here and reading my articles. And for those of you that haven’t been to his site, it is DEFINITELY worth a look. Go there now!
Grinding Down: Paul over at Grinding Down has one of the more unique blogs I’ve seen. His posts are usually pertaining to what he is playing now, and reading about his exploits to get every last achievement has been very entertaining. It let me know that there are gamers out there that really enjoy playing and are passionate about each game they pop into their system tray or cartridge they slide into their SNES. Thanks for the support this year, and keep up the good write ups!
There are plenty of other bloggers, friends, and gamers out there that I want to say thank you too as well, but a collective appreciation will have to suffice.
So what’s next for Slick Gaming?
I’m looking to go another strong year. I’ve been working more and more on video content through my YouTube channel. I want to create more gameplay videos, Modern Classics, Free Plays, and I have a few ideas for more series’ should I get even more time. The tricky thing with video editing… it takes a long time.
I’ll be continuing the written articles as well. I was very happy that I was able to use this as an outlet for writing my own features and stories. I keep thinking up new pieces to work on, so expect more work forthcoming (I’m thinking “Games That You Can Always Come Back Too”).
And I’ll be working more on reviews. The cornerstone of this blog and the first written video game related media I worked on, game reviews are what I have been doing the longest. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on TONS of new games this coming year, including Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance and Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition for iOS. Stay tuned for even more reviews!
So once again, thank you. It wouldn’t have been as great a year without all of the support I’ve received from you all. And I know, this is the cheesiest way possible to express my gratitude, but I’m doing it anyway.
Here’s to one more year of Slick Gaming!
Laters,

Congratulations! I’m new around here, but it’s always nice to see a blogger who is dedicated to his/her blog. Here’s hoping I’ll see another one of these posts next year!

Congrats on the first year, man! Also, many thanks for the kind words! I’m glad I stumbled upon your blog while digging through the depths of WordPress last year. Yours was a real diamond in the rough, and I have really enjoyed reading your thoughts on gaming since then. Keep up the great work, and here’s to many more years!
Wow, that’s really nice of you to say! Hearing inspiring comments like that really makes everything worth it. Thanks for the continued support, and here’s to many more years of The Warning Sign!
