I can officially say the craziness of the eBay auctions has officially ended this week. The last couple of orders have come in, and there is only one more game that I’ve ordered that I’m waiting on (which should have been here by now, because I ordered it well over two weeks ago). This week was also special because a coworker of mine actually gave me some of her old, albeit beat up, Sega Saturn games! And Laura and I made a trip to San Jose we don’t commonly make, and I was able to secure a copy of a game to finish up a DS trilogy. All around a fun week in collecting!
 Dark LegendSaturn Release Date: October 1st, 1995 Purchased at: N/A (Gift) As I was saying, a coworker gave me these games that were apparently just sitting in her garage and not being played. They’re in somewhat poor shape, with some visible scratches on the back, and obviously no cases of materials. Still, I’m happy to have any Saturn games at this point! Dark Legend is a fighting game that seems to be nothing special. Strangely, I’m reading it was released in North American arcades under the Japanese title Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty, but was later ported under this name. |

 Lost in Blue 3DS Release Date: March 18th, 2008 Purchased at: GameStop (San Jose, CA – $5) Though just a loose cartridge, this rounds up the Lost in Blue franchise on the DS! Now, there’s just the Wii game to fully complete the series. When I was testing the earlier games a few weeks back, it must have left a good impression, because it’s one of the only games I still want to play more. Are these games interconnected at all, or are they all separate? Anyone know…? |
 Mario & Luigi: Superstar SagaGame Boy Advance Release Date: November 17th, 2003 Purchased at: eBay (Online – $10) One of the final eBay rush games, the first Mario & Luigi game is actually the only game I have played previously. Back in the emulation days in high school I decided to go for this one because it’s an RPG with Mario in it! Though I never finished it back in high school, I’m excited to be able to finish it first in the series and work my way up to the newest games! |
 Nerf N-StrikeWii Release Date: October 28th, 2008 Purchased at: GameStop (San Jose, CA – $2) A complete impulse buy, I decided to grab this little Nerf game because it’s an on-rails shooter on the Wii. Though this one is likely targeted at kids (teens, to be more exact), it still has some decent reviews online and it’s assuredly not the worst shooter on the Wii. There’s also a sequel called Nerf N-Strike Elite that I also need to buy now. Ugh… |
 Touch Detective 2 1/2DS Release Date: October 9th, 2007 Purchased at: eBay (Online – $12) The last eBay game for hopefully some time (I need to save money), Touch Detective 2 1/2 for that price complete was a must buy for me. Everything is in great condition and the game completes the small series on the DS. I think I mentioned on a previous roundup that there’s actually a third game in the series, but it’s exclusive to Japan. Maybe Atlus will bring it over as part of a collection or something someday. |
 We Ski & SnowboardWii Release Date: March 3rd, 2009 Purchased at: GameStop (San Jose, CA – $5) We Ski & Snowboard is the awesomely named sequel to We Ski. Both games require the Wii Balance Board to play, which I unfortunately do not have. Then why did I purchase the game you ask? Because this one and the previous game are often regarded among the best Balance Board games for the console. Also, and I didn’t know this until I looked it up at the store, for just five bucks this was wonderfully priced! It was selling online for around $15! |
 X-Men: Children of the AtomSaturn Release Date: November 22nd, 1995 Purchased at: N/A (Gift) Jessica was kind enough to give me three Saturn games, and when I was looking at them when she first gave them to me, the only one that really caugh my attention was X-Men: Children of the Atom. But not because it is an excellent fighting game on the Saturn, but because IT’S THE JAPANESE VERSION! I was trying to put my finger on why the disc looked weird, so when I got home I did some inspections and noticed the Japanese text on the disc, and the Japanese logo for the Saturn. Awesome! Hopefully it works… |
