You might be thinking, “Jsick, it’s the end of the year, surely the only news to report on is Game of the Year stories from around the internet?” Well faithful reader, you’d be disappointed to know that I am not reporting anything this week on GotY shenanigans. Not yet at least.
There was actually a handful of newsworthy stories this week, some good, some bad.
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy is coming to iOS. The gameplay will seem to remain largely the same, with the only difference being that you must pay for each song. A nice option for Final Fantasy fans without a 3DS.
A dose of sad news this week, a handful of talented workers were let go from Machinima, including colleagues of mine. The company is restructuring and expanding quickly, but whenever people get laid off it’s a sad tale. Best wishes go out to the employees that lost their jobs this week.
Most likely due to the standard box art being made for “Frat Guys”, Bioshock Infinite’s creator Ken Levine revealed that there will be a reversible cover for the upcoming shooter. Not only that, but gamers can vote on which design they’d like to see in the final product! A simple yet brilliant solution.
In what has now almost become tradition, shortly after Gearbox released the latest DLC for Borderlands 2 (Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage), a leak has come about showcasing the next add-on. Entitled Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, the details about the upcoming release are yet known or even official. But more Hammerlock is a good thing in my book!
Street Fighter x Mega Man is happening. It’ll be released next week, and it’s free.
Street Fighter x Mega Man.
STREET FIGHTER. CROSS. MEGA MAN!
An HD re-release of past Hitman games has been confirmed by Square Enix. Packaging the games Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money for the very nice price of $40, the game will be available by the end of January 2013.
A follow-up to Mass Effect 3 was hinted at by an employee of BioWare, the studio that made the sci-fi RPG series. It was all in vain however, as the interview stating the information about the new game has since been pulled and deemed inaccurate.
