Just two new games this week. I have been on a serious Spyro kick lately: I’ve bought about seven Spyro games in the last three months. Oh well, it’s not like they’re bad games. Though I suppose most of them aren’t too well regarded either…
Bushido Blade Playstation 1 Release Date: September 30th, 1997 Square (currently Square-Enix) isn’t known for making fighting games. But they’ve dabbled. Perhaps their most well regarded fighting game would be Bushido Blade and it’s sequel for the PS1. I own and have played the sequel, and it’s a different type of fighter. It’s not about combos and fireballs, but more-so swift movements and death strikes. The draw to the game was the weapon based combat, which wasn’t as big before Soul Calibur/Soul Blade came around. Being able to kill your opponent for one false move is still sweet. |
Spyro: Season of Ice Game Boy Advance Release Date: October 19th, 2001 Hey, I bought this game on it’s 10 year anniversary! That’s got to mean something, right? Well, the Spyro GBA games are considered to be some of the best Spyro games in the series, and I was super thrilled to see this game still in the box and for only four bucks! The GBA can’t put out the same 3D graphics as the PS1, but it did it’s best to capture the Spyro essence. I’ll have to give this one a look after I finish up the original Spyro (Hopefully this week). |
