Another year draws to a close and 2013 is right in front of us. What better way to look back on the year that was 2012 than reliving each and every game purchase of the year! You may recall last year I did something very similar at the end of the year, but this time around it’s a bit more special. 2012 was Slick Gaming’s first full calendar year being a live blog (a feat I still can’t grasp entirely). That means a lot of things, like more posts and features than before, but it also means an entire year’s worth of new games chronicled in the Sunday Roundup feature. Let’s start out in January and take a look back at the year in games!

That’s 235 games in one calendar year. Though I can’t speak entirely accurately about past years seeing as this is the only full year I’ve cataloged in this blog, I can say that 235 is a hell of a lot of games for one year.
2012 also saw a handful of milestones and firsts for my collecting career. This past year I picked up my 1,000th overall game (Pokemon Conquest). I also finally bought a Sega Saturn after years and years of monitoring websites and sales to find one for the right price at the right time. I also managed to expand upon my usual locations for game purchases, which is definitely a good thing.
And there you have it, folks. 2012 has come and gone. Games were bought, games were played, games were loved, and games were hated. I’m excited for 2013 and am curious to see what it’ll bring. Only time well tell. Until then, game on!
