I've been writing about game collecting for a while, but also haven't written about game collecting for awhile.
It’s been a loooong while since I’ve talked about video game collecting. That’s a real shame considering game collecting is largely what I do in the greater world of video gaming, and in large one of the main reasons I started this blog in the first place. I was reintroduced, if you will, to the collecting spirit while recording the latest Boss Rush episode. In it, Jon and Mat both had stories about getting a Nintendo Switch, and how there are so many great games on them to play. That idea of buying a new console and seeing all the titles newly available to you got me excited about finding those quality, sometimes totally random, games no one else may be playing. Because of this, I started thinking about my PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch collections. While my purchasing power has been limited for the past year or two, the games for said consoles are still releasing, still lowering (or raising) in price, and still becoming something of a collector’s item. With that, I wanted to divulge some tips I have been using to start up a new game collection for the modern consoles. (more…)
This week saw a duo of decent Craigslist pickups. After the first set, I was pretty set on not spending any more money on Craigslist stuff, but then the following…
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these! The reason behind that is two-fold: unfortunately I just haven’t found the time to write much, but worse I haven’t scrounged up any video games lately! Sure, there’s some here and there pickups like Persona 5 and Story of Seasons, but nothing noteworthy. Oh, and I did get a Nintendo Switch, which is the reason behind the multiple-piece Nintendo Retrospective. Moving forward, let’s hope I have more weeks like this, where I found a couple of great games and had a decent work to boot! (more…)
It’s been busy season over here, and as such I haven’t been able to get to this blog for almost two weeks! Thankfully during this time I’ve had plenty of opportunities to swing by some video game stores and take advantage of the sales of the season! A rule I’ve always stuck by during late November through December is not buying games that are on my Christmas list. Therefore most of these games aren’t all too spectacular. But hey, they’re here now, and that’s what really matters! (more…)
This could very well be a first for Sunday Roundup: We’ve got not one, but two new consoles on this week’s update of games! And to make it even better, there are more than a dozen PS1 games I picked up from a friend back in Michigan City, many of them rare and hard to find in excellent condition! Prices were fair and they were shipped here well, so really no complaints around. Also, Buy 2 Get 1 Free for Black Friday deals at GameStop always get my cravings up. Here we go! (more…)
Here are a few weeks worth of game’s that have come in. A lot of these have been ordered for months now, with a few having been ordered when they were first announced! It’s November now, and with the wintery months comes tons of Triple A video games, so let’s get this started! (more…)
