Sunday Roundup: 9/25/16

After a kinda good, kinda bad haul from the citywide garage sale last weekend, I was hoping to find better luck searching through some GameStop’s I don’t usually get to visit this week. While a few stores had some new games for me, I have think I’m at the point where GameStop is no longer offering up anything new for my collection. Sadly most stores have all the same stuff visit after visit. So treat this intro as a request for any gamers out there looking to trade in games to trade them in so I can buy them. Thanks! (more…)

Sunday Roundup: 9/18/16

The City Wide garage sale was this weekend, and while I picked up a good haul of games, most of them were for reselling later (including a copy of Parasite Eve on PS1 for just $2!). There were, however, a couple of games I grabbed from a Craigslist seller I simply couldn’t believe were still available. And then the Dragon Quest VII  port finally released on 3DS this week, so there are a ton of games to go over. Let’s get right into it! (more…)

A few trips to GameStop were sadly uneventful, but a return to my friendly ol’ Sunnyvale store proved to be worthwhile yet again! I do find it weird that whenever there’s a “4 for $40” or “4 for $20” sale, or something similar, I can always find three games I want really quickly, and then have trouble finding a fourth. I usually end up getting trash, which is the case yet again this week. Also, and more excitingly, I went back to the De Anza flea market this weekend! There was tons more booths with video games! I was incredibly impressed by their selection, quality, and, most of all, price! The best find was some Skylanders toys, which I’ll get into at the end here.

Sunday Roundup: 7/3/16

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. Last Sunday was my birthday, and I had my parents visiting our house here in California! They hadn’t been here before, and I hadn’t seen them in almost two years, so it was a great, eventful visit! Outside of that, there were some big time releases I was looking forward too for a long time that came out these past two weeks, leading to a rather small but high-quality Roundup. Let’s get started! Sunday Roundup: 6/5/16

It has been a busy couple of weeks! The end of May I went back home to watch my brother get married! It was amazing, of course, and it was the first time I was back home in Indiana in almost two years! The weekend immediately after was Fanime, an anime convention here in California that we’ve gone to for the past few years. We dressed up, we bought stuff, and we had a good time. Following that we had a friend move in with us until he can find a place of his own, and now Laura’s sister is back home for a couple weeks before her job starts! Phew! Thankfully though, a visit home means a ton of new video games I can’t get here in California! Let’s break it down!

Sunday Roundup: 4/24/16

A visit to Los Angeles for family and friends is great, and being able to hit up a couple used game shops along the way is even better! I haven’t been to LA in six years, so it was nice to get back there and see that some places were still the same, but others were totally revamped! Par for the course for a major city I suppose. Anyway, after a visit to a shop that wasn’t all too thrilling, my brother and I hit up a place that was literally, and I mean this in ever sense of the phrase, packed floor to ceiling with games from every console. It was a little piece of heaven that I can’t seem to find in my neck of the woods. Anyway, let’s get to it! (more…)
